Where each one is strongest

Yiddish LabsThe most complete transcript workflow: speaker labels, summaries, word-synced playback, upload by link, a Word add-in, an API, OCR (including Rashi script), and phone numbers in Israel, the UK and Belgium.
SpeakInkLive dictation in Yiddish, Hebrew and English on Windows, Chrome and Android, free during its beta, with an iOS keyboard in testing.
Sofer.aiBuilt for shiurim, especially English and Yeshivish ones, with search and a WhatsApp bot.
Human transcribersBest when a transcript has to be perfect — for example a sefer going to print.
Heimish GeredtYiddish read aloud in heimish voices; one low price for everything; dictation on the Kyocera flip phones people already own; grammar in Hasidic spelling; one domain for kosher filters.

What Heimish Geredt doesn't do yet

To be fair to the comparison: as of October 2026 Heimish Geredt has no speaker labels, summaries, timestamps or Word export, no public API, no upload by link on the website, and no phone numbers outside the US. Text to speech is still marked beta. If you need those today, one of the tools above may suit you better.

How to choose: test your own audio

  1. Take one minute of a real recording — a shiur, a voice note, a phone call.
  2. Run the same file through each tool you are considering (most have a free trial or free credits).
  3. Count the mistakes, especially in names and loshn-koydesh words.
  4. Work out the monthly cost for your amount of audio, not the headline price.

If Heimish Geredt does worse on your audio, send us the clip — that is how it gets better.
